Ultimate Dog Grooming Course for Pup Parents

I was dying to know, how does my groomer untangle the mats? How does he give her a bath, what products is he using that makes her coat so smooth?  What about my dogs nails? How does that doodles face look so cute, how did they trim it?

I want my dog to always look that amazing!

Then, like most pup parents, my dog had the dreaded SHAVE DOWN. And I was truly dying to know. AND, I vowed to never let that happen again.

So, I became a groomer!

Grooming Video

I loved these video tutorials. Short and to the point. I could watch them over and over if needed. Not having to rewind is the best. Thank you so much for providing this valuable information. My sweet pup (she is a Whoodle) LuLu's eyes were disappearing under all of her fur and I truly want to groom her more frequently without the high cost. You can see her fabulous eyelashes after I trimmed her fur back.

Helpful but not dog savvy

So the production quality of this made it easy to watch and I found it a helpful overview of how to do some things at home. It was disheartening to see a lack of dog fluency - the dogs were clearly uncomfortable in ways people don’t always notice. They look away (clear dog language for “please stop” that humans rarely respect) and I know I saw lip licking and the poor dog whose ear hair was plucked winced. Who wouldn’t? I asked my vet if this is something you’re supposed to do and she says she only does it under sedation if medically necessary, never for prevention. I recommend looking for groomers who are Fear Free Certified and researching cooperative care for grooming.

Hi, thank you so much for your feedback and we're so glad you found it a helpful overview of how to do things at home as that is our goal! We apologize for any lack of dog fluency you felt. There are definitely hard parts of grooming for our dogs- so we understand.

Grooming video

I have not yet been able to complete the video but from what I see so far it is a great initial video. It would be nice to have something that goes into a little more depth, but I am appreciative of all I can get as a busy doggy mommy
We’re getting a puppy from Matthews Legacy Farm Golden Doodles February, and I can’t wait to try out the techniques!

Very basic

It’s a very basic course. I’ve been grooming my dog for a year now and I was hoping for more detailed how to’s with the underarms, tail and face.
